Your Innate Intelligence to Heal

Q&A with Rowena Choo: Spinal Flow Technique Practitioner

The Spinal Flow Technique ("Spinal Flow") is a powerful modality that facilitates the rebalancing of the body and its function without manually adjusting the spine. It consists of light touches on specific points on the body that consists of the dura mater, a membrane that protects the brain and spinal cord. Spinal Flow is a cutting-edge science and healing art.

Spinal Flow Technique (Spinal Flow) is a powerful yet gentle healing modality that facilitates healing via the nervous system and consists of light touches on areas of the spine, without manipulation, popping or cracking. Spinal Flow facilitates a full rewiring of the brain and the body relearns what it already knew.

Founded by Dr Carli Axford, the Spinal Flow Technique is a very specific technique based on the 7 gateways of the spine and 33 access points which facilitate healing via the nervous system. This special healing technique has helped many individuals recovery from chronic pain, disc issues, anxiety, low energy, infertility, digestive issues, mental-emotional stress, sleep issues and more.

Spinal Flow finds, identifies and releases layers of physicalchemical and emotional-mental tension, effecting ease in the body. It also uncovers stored trauma that’s been in the body for a long time, causing blockages, disease and illness. This hidden trauma resides in the spine or the nervous system; finding it allows the person to feel and discard it so that it doesn’t continue to block them in life.

Spinal Flow facilitates rebalancing our nervous system by restoring our parasympathetic nervous system, which activates our innate ability to heal and regenerate.

Some approach finds bones or areas that are stuck and moves them. While we also identify what feels stuck, the difference is that they don’t go in and move an area that is stuck because they believe the body has a wisdom and this area is stuck for a reason. Instead, they look for area of openness in the body, which is called “access points”.

The covid pandemic has crippled the social and economic landscape and is affecting billions of lives worldwide. What was the business continuity strategies you had to overcome this situation

It has definitely been a challenging especially during the Circuit Breaker (7 April to 1 June 2020). During this period, we introduced virtual Spinal Flow coaching sessions for continuity of care and provide support our clients during the lockdown. Although, clients did benefit from the online coaching sessions, most still prefer in-person sessions. Humans are innately attuned to the sense of touch and most of us intuitively know the healing power of touch. We also offer home visits for clients who would prefer treatment in the comfort of their own homes.

What would be some of the advice you would like to give audiences?

In my experience, self-care and the mind-body connection are often not given sufficient attention in our fast-paced lives:-

•   Make time each day for yourself - whether you have 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours, do something that you love doing or make you happy.

•   Listen to your body - many of us go through each day on auto-pilot. Are you feeling thirsty? Are you feeling hungry? Are you feeling tired? Do you feel aches. stiffness or pain? What is your body trying to tell you?
